Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has officially initiated the selection process for support staff for the Hajj 2026 season. The ministry is seeking applications from eligible government servants to serve as Khuddam-ul-Hujjaj (Hajj Helpers) and Nazimeen (Supervisors) in Saudi Arabia.

The selected individuals will be responsible for facilitating pilgrims across various domains, including transport, accommodation, food, and other logistical matters during the holy pilgrimage. The selection process will be conducted transparently through the National Testing Service (NTS).

1. Available Roles and Seat Allocation

The ministry has announced a total of 880 seats divided into supervisory and field support categories, spanning Basic Pay Scales (BPS) 11 to 18. The seats are distributed based on provincial and regional quotas.

A. Supervisory Positions (BPS 17 & 18)

• Role: Nazimeen / Supervisory Staff
• Total Seats: 100
• Quotas: The seats are allocated among Punjab, Islamabad, Sindh (Rural & Urban), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) based on predefined percentages.

B. Field/Support Staff (BPS 11 to 16)

• Role: Khuddam / Field Staff
• Total Seats: 780
• Quotas: Similar to the supervisory roles, these seats are distributed across all provinces and regions of Pakistan.

Special Quota for Uniformed Forces:

Within the 780 seats for Field Support Staff (BPS 11-16), 30% of seats are reserved specifically for personnel belonging to uniformed forces. This includes employees of the Police, Rangers, Airport Security Force (ASF), Rescue 1122, and Civil Defence.

2. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for these prestigious roles, candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• Employment Status: Applicants must be permanent employees of the Federal or Provincial Governments, AJK, or GB governments, holding substantive posts ranging from BPS-11 to BPS-18. Employees on a contract or an ad-hoc basis are ineligible.
• Age Limit (as of the application deadline):
  • For Supervisory Roles (BPS 17-18): Minimum 25 years, Maximum 45 years.
  • For Field Staff (BPS 11-16): Minimum 25 years, Maximum 50 years.
• Exclusions: Government employees currently posted in Pakistan embassies abroad or those already serving as Hajj Moavineen are not eligible to apply.
• Legal Note: The final selection process is subject to the decision of the Honourable Supreme Court in Civil Petition 72/2025.

The selection will be strictly merit-based, conducted by NTS through a multi-stage process:

1. Written Test: Candidates must appear for a written test. The syllabus is available on the NTS website. Securing a minimum of 40% marks is mandatory to qualify for the next stage.
2. Physical Fitness Test: Shortlisted candidates must pass a physical endurance test:
   • Males: Candidates must complete a 1-kilometre run in 5 minutes.
   • Females: Candidates must complete a 1-kilometre run in 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
3. Medical Fitness: Applicants must be medically fit, free from contagious diseases, and have undergone no major surgeries. Shortlisted candidates will be required to provide a Medical Fitness Certificate verified by the Medical Superintendent of a District Headquarters (DHQ) or Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospital.
4. Interview: Final shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

• Duty, Not Pilgrimage: Selected candidates are deployed strictly for duty to assist pilgrims. They are not permitted to perform Hajj themselves during this deployment.
• Data Accuracy: Information provided in the online application form will be considered final. Any incorrect information or forged documents detected at any stage will lead to immediate disqualification and strict departmental disciplinary action.
• No TA/DA: No Travelling Allowance or Daily Allowance will be paid to candidates for appearing in tests or interviews.
